For my observational drawing, I drew my cat, Olivia. I used ink and marker, a medium I don't use frequently in official projects. It was difficult because I needed to draw the fur just right and I couldn't go back and erase lines. My first thought was pencil, but I wanted more of a challenge, so I eventually used black ink to draw the fur and Prismacolor markers for the rest and the shading. It could've gone wrong in a number of ways but I wanted to make it to the best of my ability. Ink seemed like a formidable material, and to use it, I couldn't be afraid to draw dark lines.
WHAT: a rainbow slinky.
WHERE: by a bush. WHEN: around 5:00. WHO: a woman with her two daughters. WHY: she most likely found it amusing. I chose a small rainbow slinky for my Stake Out project item. Our street is very busy so I put it on the sidewalk in front of my house near one of the bushes. I observed from my balcony on the second floor. Several people passed it: a man carrying bags, 2 jogging women, and a lady walking her dog. About thirty-seven minutes after I placed it, a woman with her daughters walked by and one of them noticed it. She picked it up and looked at it for a few seconds before putting it in her pocket and walking away. Sadly, I forgot to take pictures. Welcome to my art blog, buckle up and enjoy the ride. There may or may not be turbulence.
